UP Muslim clerics ask people not to offer'Alvida Namaz'on roads

This is the first time Muslim religious leaders are coming forward and appealing to people not to offer Namaz on the streets.

Lucknow, April 29: After Yogi Adityanath-led-Uttar Pradesh government's order, Muslim clerics have appealed to people to offer the ‘Alvida’ Namaz on the occasion of the last Friday of Ramzan only in designated places and not on roads. This is the first time Muslim religious leaders are coming forward and appealing to people not to offer Namaz on the streets.

It should be noted that the UP government has directed that namaz should only be offered at mosques and not on the roads or in public places.
 
As per the reports,  Islamic Centre of India Head and Imam of Aishbagh Eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, has appealed to people not to offer Friday prayers on roads. It has asked Muslims to offer namaz at mosques in their locality. Besides, Muslims have also been advised to keep the sound of loudspeakers according to the prescribed standards.
  
Sunni cleric Sufiyan Nizami of Darul Uloom Farangi Mahal has said that prayers should be offered inside the mosque premises and not on the road. Meanwhile, the administration has beefed up security at several places that are being considered sensitive. According to the DGP Headquarters, Alvida prayers are to be held on Friday at 19,949 mosques, 7,436 Idgahs, and 2,846 other places. These 2,846 places have been marked as sensitive. Apart from this, 2,705 places have also been considered sensitive. Tight security arrangements have been made at all these places.
