17-year-old girl sexually assaulted by foster Muslim father and three brothers

Chennai, April 08: A spine-chilling case of sexual assault has come to the fore from Tamil Nadu, where a Muslim father along with his three sons sexually assaulted an illegally adopted 17-year-old college girl. Her foster parents illegally adopted her in 2005.

 

 

Police have arrested all accused persons under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections for illegally adopting a girl and sexually assaulting the victim. Police have also arrested the mother who threatened the girl and supported the crime. S. Sherif (64) and his wife, Jameela (58), Imtiaz, Irfan, and Haneef are the names of the accused.

 

As per the girl, they had been sexually assaulting her for more than three years. They started sexually assaulting the girl when she attained puberty at the age of 15. When the victim brought it to the notice of Jameela, she advised her to cooperate with them and started ignoring her complaints.

 

During that time, she also got pregnant. However, Sherif took her to the hospital for an abortion. The matter came to light after, the victim told all the incidents to her biological siblings, who then asked her to file a complaint at a nearby police station. Following the advice, she filed a complaint against her foster family. Following this, police took action and arrested them.

 

While giving the statement, she said, "My foster father raped me in 2020 and threatened me not to reveal it. On knowing my father’s sexual acts, my foster brothers too on their part started sexually attacking me. They are all married men. When I told this to my foster mother with tears, she told me that everything that happens with her knowledge and adjusting to their desires would be safer for me.".
