Lanka is burning! Enraged protestors burn down Mahinda Rajapaksa's residence to ashes

A large number of protestors have been on the streets, despite of an imposed curfew, including the Inter - University Students Federation (IUSF) and attacked the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs.

Colombo, May 10: The ancestral home of Sri Lanka's Rajapaksa family in Hambantota was set on fire by enraged protestors. The incident comes soon after the resignation of former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa, on May 9. The protestors also burnt former minister Keheliya Rambukwella's house.

Former Sri Lanka Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's residence in the city of Kurunegala in the north western province was set on fire, merely hours after the leader tendered his resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, as the island nation goes through its worst crisis resulting to enraged protests.
 
 
Moreover, the houses of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs Bandula Gunawardena, Prasanna Ranatunga, Channa Jayasumana, Kokila Gunawardena, Arundika Fernando, Thissa Kuttiyarachchi, Kanak Herath, Pavithra Wannarachiani have also been attacked. The anti - govt protestors also set on fire the official residences of Sri Lanka's Moratuwa Mayor Saman Lal Fernando, and the MPs Sanath Nishantha, Ramesh Pathirana, Mahipala Herath, Thissa Kuttiarachchi and Nimal Lanza.
