Blow to Congress! Telangana cops books district Congress President for sexually assaulting woman

Hyderabad, May 10: In a major blow to the Congress Party, Telangana police has been booked Narayanpet District Congress Committee president, K Shiva Kumar Reddy, under the relevant section of IPC, for sexually assaulting a woman without her consent.

 

 

This comes after a middle-aged woman, lodged a complaint against Reddy stating that he married her and took her to a hotel, and raped her without her consent.

 

According to the reports, Police said they have registered a case under various sections of IPC and are collecting more evidence in the case. Reddy has been booked under Section 376, 417, 420, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and is likely to face arrest once the preliminary investigation is over.

 

 

According to FIR, the woman, a Congress worker, has alleged that Shiva Kumar pretended to be in love with her. When they came close, the woman said, she asked for marriage and the Congress leader told her that his wife was ill and won't survive for more than three years. The Congress leader later tied a thread signifying that they were now married.

 

 

Reddy later called the woman at a hotel in Panjagutta for some discussion. However, she alleged that Reddy raped her with her consent and took nude pictures of her when she was in an unconscious state. The woman in her complaint said that Reddy threatened her to listen to him or else he would post the pictures on social media.

 

Meanwhile, the probe is currently under preliminary investigation. The accused will be arrested after the investigation is done.
