Kashmiri Pandits flood the roads of Budgam to support Rahul Bhatt's family

In line with the increasing incidents of targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, the community has flooded the roads of Budgam, where the recent attack took place, and also elsewhere in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, May 13: Rallies of Kashmiri Pandits have emerged in Budgam as well as in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir after Rahul Bhatt was shot dead at his office in Chadoora area of Budgam, in Kashmir on Thursday (May 12). The rallies are in demand of safety.

In line with the increasing incidents of targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, the community has flooded the roads of Budgam, where the recent attack took place, and also elsewhere in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri pandits have also asserted that they will resign en masse if they are not given a safe passage to Jammu.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Videos of the protests that are going viral on social media and especially twitter resemble members of the community raising slogans against the govt and demanding for a solution to the life threatening issue that the community is facing.
 
Rahul Bhatt was a govt employee, belonging to the Kashmir Pandit community. The individual was shot dead at his office in Chadoora area of Budgam, in Kashmir on Thursday (May 12). Bhatt was an employee of the revenue department at the Tehsildar office in the Chadoora area.
 
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha has met the relatives of Rahul Bhat and assured justice to the family. He shared on twitter about the same, "Met the relatives of Rahul Bhat and assured justice to the family. In this hour of grief, the government stands firmly with Rahul's family. Terrorists and their supporters will have to pay a very heavy price for their heinous act."
