Kashmiri Pandits yet on militant target; Rahul Bhatt next victim of Hindu hatred in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 13: Rahul Bhatt from Kashmir's Budgam becomes yet another Kashmiri Pandit targeted with Pandit hatred in the Kashmir valley. The case of Rahul Bhatt's selective murder is an addition in the series of incidents of Kashmiri Pandits targeted and killed after a letter titled ‘Letter to kafirs’ was issued by Lashkar - e- Islam.

Rahul Bhatt was a govt employee, belonging to the Kashmir Pandit community. The individual was shot dead at his office in Chadoora area of Budgam, in Kashmir on Thursday (May 12). Bhatt was an employee of the revenue department at the Tehsildar office in the Chadoora area.
 
 
 
 
 
According to the reports, the victim was fired upon by terrorists in the office premises, while he was on his duty. The govt employee was immediately rushed to Srinagar hospital for treatment. However, sustaining to grievous injuries, Bhatt succumbed to his injuries.
 
Kashmiri Hindus have been witnessing another round of mass violence after the Lashkar - E - Islam issued notice to threaten them. Targeted killings of Devraj Singh and Surinder Singh in Kashmir's Pulwama on Apr 18, were the last major incident in the series.
 
The letter titled ‘Letter to kafirs’ that was issued by Lashkar - e- Islam read, “Leave the valley or face dire consequences.” The letter also stated that Kashmiri Hindus will be killed and sent to hell for disobeying their diktat and nobody including PM Modi or Amit Shah will be able to save them.
