Delhi police summons rape-accused Congress Minister’s son to appear on May 18

However, police have been unable to question Rohit so far & his phone was switched off and is untraceable.

New Delhi, May 16: Rajasthan cabinet minister Mahesh Joshi's son, Rohit Joshi, was summoned by Delhi police on May 18. As many as 15 police personnel of Delhi police have arrived in three vehicles in Rajasthan in connection with questioning in a rape case in which Rohit Joshi is an accused.

However, police have been unable to question Rohit so far. His phone was switched off and is untraceable. His father, Mahesh Joshi, is in Udaipur to attend Congress’ Chintan Shivir.
 
 
A 23-year-old woman, who worked as an anchor for a news channel, alleged that she was taken to Sawai Madhopur where her drink was spiked and that she was raped on several occasions by Rohit Joshi. The woman has also alleged that she and her family's lives are under threat from the father-son duo.

According to a zero FIR registered against the Congress leader's son, the Jaipur-based woman was raped on multiple occasions between January 8, 2021 and April 17, this year. An FIR has been filed by the Delhi Police against Rohit under various IPC sections including 376, 312, 328, 366, 377, 506, 509.

Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi said, "If my son has done anything wrong, I would not have any problem if action is taken against him."
