New Delhi, May 18: Sharply reacting to Rahul Gandhi's remark on regional parties, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha gave a befitting reply to RaGa, saying his party will become a “tail party” in the country and regional parties will take lead.
She further said that, unlike the grand old party, regional parties have no leadership crisis.
Taking a swipe at the Congress, the TRS leader said, "The Congress discussed reviving their party...Our country is reeling with unemployment and communal disharmony...They expressed anguish about the success of regional parties. We are successful because we perform. Unlike Congress, we don't have a leadership crisis..."
The TRS MLC said that even in Maharashtra, Congress is in power because of the regional parties. The Congress shares power with Shiv Sena and NCP in Maharashtra.
“Regional parties have a clear agenda for people, Rahulji should understand even in Maharashtra they are in power because of the regional party there. In Maharashtra, Congress is tail party, tomorrow it'll be a tail party in the country and regional parties will take lead,” she added.
In his address at his party’s ‘Chintan Shivir” (brainstorming session) in Udaipur, Gandhi had claimed that regional parties cannot fight the BJP-RSS as they lack ideology. Congress can fight it, he said.
Addressing Congress leaders, Gandhi had said, “BJP will talk about Congress, will talk about Congress leaders, will talk about Congress workers, but will not talk about regional parties, because they know, that regional parties have their place, but they cannot defeat BJP. Because they don’t have an ideology.”
