Texas, May 25: In yet another mass shooting incident in the United States, an 18-year-old boy, Salvador Rolando Ramos, killed 19 students and teachers at an elementary school in Texas, on Tuesday. The mass shooting incident took place at Robb Elementary school in Uvalde.

As per the reports, before killing so many people, Ramos shot his grandmother, and then he fled that scene and crashed his car near the Robb Elementary school in Uvalde. After that, he entered the school with a handgun and a rifle and launched a rampage. He was later killed by police officers. The killings came on the day when students were preparing to start summer break this week.

The gunman wore body armor and had hinted on social media of an upcoming attack. Footage showed small groups of children weaving through parked cars and yellow buses, some holding hands as they fled under police escort from the school, which teaches students aged around seven to 10 years old.

President Joe Biden addressed the nation following the deadly attacks on schools. He has ordered US flags on federal grounds to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday to honor the victims of these “senseless acts of violence.”

It was the deadliest such incident since the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut, in which 20 children and six staff were killed. The Texas Massacre is the 212th mass shooting in the United States so far in 2022.
