Kolkata, May 06: Just before ahead of Amit Shah's visit to West Bengal, the shocking news of political murder has come to light from the state. In the latest development, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing leader was found hanging in the Kashipur area in West Bengal on Friday morning.
Arjun Chowrasia, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha committee, was found hanging near his residence.The saffron unit held Trinamool Congress workers responsible for the 'murder' of Chowrasia.
In view of the "death and murder" of the 27-year-old party member, the Bengal BJP cancelled all celebrations to welcome Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in Kolkata.
Reacting to the news, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today called for a CBI investigation into the death of a BJP worker. He also asked the Bengal government for a report.
"We will ensure that those behind the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Arjun Chowrasia are punished. The Home Ministry is extremely concerned about this political violence and has asked for a report from the West Bengal government," Amit Shah told reporters after meeting with Chowrasia's family.
"Yesterday the Trinamool government completed one year of its term. Today political murders have started in the state. BJP condemns the murder of Arjun Chowrasia. I met the grieving family, his grandmother was also beaten. BJP demands CBI inquiry into the incident," he added.
