Actor Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhanth Kapoor detained in Bengaluru for drug consumption

Karnataka, June 13: Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhanth Kapoor has been detained by Bengaluru Police for allegedly consuming drugs at a party in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hotel on MG Road where a party was hosted. The cops sent samples of 35 people suspected of having consumed drugs. Siddhanth Kapoor's sample was among six that returned positive.
 
 
Police said it was unclear if they consumed drugs and came to the party or if they consumed them at the hotel.

"Siddhant Kapoor tested positive for taking drugs in the blood test report. Hence, he has been brought to Ulsoor police station," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Bheemashankar S Guled.

Son of Shakti Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor is also an actor who portrayed the character of Chintu Dedha in the 2020 web series 'Bhaukaal'. He also acted in several movies, such as 'Shootout at Wadala', 'Ugly, 'Haseena Parkar', 'Chehre', etc. He also worked as an assistant director in films like 'Bhagam Bhag', 'Chup Chup Ke', 'Bhool Bhulaiyya'.

Police had unearthed drug abuse in a section of Kannada film industry in 2020. They had then arrested actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani and former minister late Jeevaraj Alva's son Aditya Alva.

Shakti Kapoor's daughter Shraddha Kapoor was among those who were questioned by the NCB in the case of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput over alleged possession of drugs. However, nothing substantial was proved.

Several celebrities were questioned in September 2020 based on WhatsApp chats that the NCB had unearthed during its investigation of the drugs case that came to the fore after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
