Spain Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares shared about his visit to India on Twitter saying, "Excellent meeting with my counterpart, Dr. S Jaishankar, on my first official trip to India, a global power, and an important partner and ally."

New Delhi, Jun 17: External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar held talks with his counterpart from Spain , FM Jose Manuel Albares, who recently visited New Delhi and discussed growing engagements in political and defence domains. The two leaders exchanged their views on the Indo Pacific as well as the Ukraine Conflict.

About Spain Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares's visit to India, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar tweeted, "Warm and productive discussions with Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares of Spain. Discussed our growing engagements in political, defense, economic and cultural domains. Envisage enhanced collaboration to support self reliance and resilient supply chains." The minister further added, "Exchanged views on the Indo-Pacific, the Ukraine conflict, Afghanistan, North Africa and South Asia. Agreed to work closely in multilateral forums."
 
 
 
 
 
The recent visit was the first official visit of Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares to New Delhi. According to the External Affairs Ministry's statement prior to his visit, Albares's visit was being considered as an opportunity to review the entire gamut of bilateral relations between India and Spain. It said, "The visit will further deepen the partnership across various areas including trade, defence, science & technology, innovation, climate and culture sectors."
 
 
On the same lines, the visit was termed to be fruitful as major aspects of the discussions were covered, as it was initially planned.
