MHA announces 10% reservation for Agniveers in CAPF, Assam Rifles
The announcement was made by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) earlier in the day on Twitter. Union Minister for Home Amit Shah said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to reserve 10 per cent vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles for "Agniveers".

In a series of tweets this morning, Shah said, "The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decides to reserve 10% vacancies for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles for Agniveers."

The Minister further said that the ministry also "decides to give 3 years age relaxation beyond the prescribed upper age limit to Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles". He went on to add, "Further, for the first batch of Agniveer, the age relaxation will be for 5 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit."

This development came days after MHA made an announcement that "Agniveers" would be given priority for jobs in the CAPFs and Assam Rifles. The MHA's announcement comes as violent protests have rocked the nation against the new scheme.

Such concessions give assurance of ‘permanent job’ to the youngsters, who have been violently protesting against the ‘Agnipath’ scheme across the country for the past two days.
