Misusing its power? DMK govt suspends head constable for sharing pro-BJP post on Facebook 

In a shocking development, the Tamil Nadu government has once again misused its power and suspended the head constable of the Ambathurai police station for sharing nationalist pro-RSS and BJP content on his Facebook page.

 

 

Suresh is the name of the Head Constable who has been suspended by the Govt. As per the reports, the government took this action after some people reportedly ‘informed’ the cybercrime wing of his behavior.

 

Following the complaint, cybercrime officials checked his Facebook page. Higher officials had also interrogated Suresh’s friends whose posts he shared. During the investigation, they allegedly found some nationalist social media posts.

 

 

 

After which, the Superintendent of Police ordered his dismissal on May 29 for posting and sharing nationalistic pro-BJP and Hindutva posts on his timeline.

 

Meanwhile, police have also summoned six people, including Shiv Sena state organizer CK Balaji and a famous hotel owner, who are friends of Chief Constable Suresh on his Facebook page. All were summoned for questioning today in the office of the Sub-Inspector of Suburban Police.

The Shiv Sena functionary told the media that he was told that he will be interrogated about Suresh’s posts criticizing the state government and in favor of the central government. But they were sent off and told to "not make it a big issue" and not "talk to the media". Condemning the cop’s suspension he said that DMK should learn to take criticism instead of indulging in revenge tactics.
