Lovely Professional University shows a distorted map of India in a promotional video; deletes it later

New Delhi, June 20: A controversy has erupted on social media after Punjab's Lovely Professional University (LPU) published a video in which they show a distorted map of India on social media.
The LPU is a private university located in Phagwara, Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal is the Chancellor of the University.It should be noted that the video was first shared by LPU’s Twitter handle on the 7th of June 2022.
In a video published by the LPU, the university has removed Kashmir and North East India from the map of India.
The video features a Ghanian national Omar Taufic Annertey Abbey praising the various courses offered in the LPU and while describing them, the video shows the distorted map of India in which two regions – Kashmir and North East India – are not shown as part of India.
As soon as the video went viral, a row of controversies erupted on social media. Following the outrage, the university took down a controversial video and stated it on Twitter.
