J&K: National highway blocked due to landslides

The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was blocked due to landslides that were triggered by heavy rains and the continuous shooting of stones.

Srinagar, June 22: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was blocked due to landslides that were triggered by heavy rains and the continuous shooting of stones. The heavy rains lashed the Union Territory since Tuesday afternoon.
 
J&K: National highway blocked due to landslides
Roads from Jammu, Poonch and Kishtwar were blocked by landslides. The Jammu and Kashmir traffic police tweeted, "Jammu-Srinagar NHW blocked due to shooting stones/ landslides at several places, also Mughal road blocked due to landslide at Poshana and SSG road blocked at Chini nalla due to landslide."
 
 
Following heavy rainfall on Tuesday, the Jammu-Srinagar highway was blocked due to the continuous shooting of stones at Panthyal. Mughal Road, which connects Jammu division’s Poonch district with Shopian in Kashmir, and Sinthon Road between Kishtwar and Anantnag districts too were closed following landslides and heavy snowfall on Tuesday night.
 
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat took stock of the situation due to heavy rains at Chambagund area. It is pertinent to mention that due to heavy rains in Kulgam district, class work in all primary, middle and high schools of district has been suspended today.
