PM Modi to attend G7 Summit in Germany next week; visit UAE on the way back

New Delhi, June 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Germany at the invitation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the G7 Summit which is scheduled to take place next week. Issuing the statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Modi will be in Germany for the G7 Summit on June 26-27.

He is expected to speak in two sessions that will focus on the environment, energy, climate, food security, health, gender equality, and democracy, the ministry said.
 
In an effort to strengthen international collaboration on important issues, Argentina, Indonesia, Senegal, and South Africa have also been invited. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the PM will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of some of the participating countries.
 
 
 
The invitation to G7 Summit is in keeping with the tradition of partnership and high-level political contact between India and Germany.
 
He will visit Schloss Elmau and after the summit will travel to UAE on June 28 to pay his condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, former UAE President, and Abu Dhabi Ruler. He will also congratulate Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his election as new President of UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi, the MEA said.
