PM Modi back in Munich for G7; meets Argentine President Alberto Fernandez
PM Modi addressed and interacted with the Indian community in Germany at the Audi Dome, Munich where thousands of Indians had gathered to welcome the Indian Prime Minister.

Munich, Jun 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Munich on Jun 26 (Sunday) for the G7 summit. He was welcomed by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at noon. While in Germany, PM Modi held talks with Argentina President Alberto Fernandez. PM Modi also addressed the Indian disapora.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is presently visiting Germany for the G7 summit, met President of Argentina, Alberto Fernandez. This was the first bilateral meeting between the two leaders. According to the statement of the Prime Minister's Office, the two reviewed progress in implementing the bilateral Strategic Partnership established in 2019.
Discussions took place on various issues including trade and investment; South-South cooperation, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector; climate action, renewable energy, nuclear medicine, electric mobility, defence cooperation, agriculture and food security, traditional medicine, cultural cooperation, as well as coordination in international bodies. Both sides agreed to enhance their bilateral engagement in these sectors.
At the same time, before meeting global leaders, PM Modi also addressed the Indian Diaspora at Munich. PM Modi addressed and interacted with the Indian community in Germany at the Audi Dome, Munich where thousands of Indians had gathered to welcome the Indian Prime Minister. At the interaction, PM Modi highlighted India’s growth story and mentioned various initiatives undertaken by the Indian govt to further achieve the country’s development agenda.
During the interaction that took place on Jun 26, PM Modi remembered the unfortunate Emergency that was announced in India on the same day in 1975 and said, "Democracy is our pride, is in the DNA of every Indian. 47 years ago, on this day, an attempt was made to hold that democracy hostage, suppress democracy. Emergency is a black spot on the vibrant history of India's democracy." He further added, "The people of India answered all the conspiracies to crush democracy. We Indians take pride in our democracy wherever we are. Every Indian proudly says India is the mother of democracy."
