According to her, she has received the E-mail regarding this action taken by Twitter.

The notice from Twitter that Ayyub shared read: “In order to comply with Twitter’s obligations under India’s local laws, we have withheld the following account in India under the country’s Information Technology Act, 2000: the content remains available elsewhere.”

“As Twitter strongly believes in defending and respecting the voice of the people who use our service, it is our policy to notify account holders if we receive a legal request from an authorized entity (such as law enforcement or a government agency) to remove content from their account. We provide notice whether or not the user lives in the country where the request originated,” it read.

In her controversial tweet, Rana had launched an attack on the judiciary in connection to the disputed structures called mosques. The report was published on April 09, 2021. Ayyub had said, “Setting the stage for demolition of yet another mosque in India, sanctioned by the judiciary, endorsed by the regime, abetted by the silence of its liberals and enabled by the complicity of the citizenry. Yet another day of humiliating the Muslim minority. Democracy anyone?”

Last week, Twitter took a similar action on fake news paddler Cj Werleman's account and withheld his 'Account' in India.
