I have been reflecting in my own way on Dattopant Thengadi Ji's Third Way. I present these small "ripples" that it has caused in my mind in a series. I am glad it has found its resonance in many thinking minds alike. I hope the readers have read the earlier article in the series before moving ahead.

Dattopant explains that without the knowledge of the common people of the country influential capitalists along with the rulers of the US bully the developing countries and operate against them. This he described as an unholy alliance that works against everyone. They endorse Free Trade, liberalization, and Globalisation as long as it upholds their interest.

Dattopant describes all this as a fraud and our support of it as gullibility. It is the ignorance and hypocrisy of our intellectuals to validate it. And it is a challenge to all the patriots. So there is a greater need to focus on the Swadeshi and Hindu version of globalization which aims at the prosperity of all.

It implies the growth and contribution of all cultures without even excluding schools of thought like materialism. The basis of Hindu thought is the truth, 'all is One.

Distinctive features of all nations are not lost, all the people treat others as a family ( a global family), but there exists beauty of harmony ( though there are various and diverse characteristics) and sufficient space for self-expression.

This Shri Guruji said, is the special contribution to the world thought by us. Shri Aurobindo envisions a further stage as ' mass spiritualism' which implies ' One World State'. Without this it is really impossible to find a true solutions for all the social and environmental issues which appear as the corollaries of ' free trade ' theory.

Thus the spirit of Swadeshi seems to be getting strengthened in many countries, for example 'Be American: Buy American'. It provides official protection to its trade and industries. Many other countries follow this path as a safeguard against the foreign economic imperialism, though our intellctuals refuse to perceive the threat.

Hindu view is not just related to trade ,it implies economic reconstruction of our country too. It is not just a political slogan, it is a spiritual movement related to national consciousness. Shri Aurobindo described it in 'Vande Mataram' in January 1908. ( 'Bande Mataram' was an English newspaper edited by Sri Aurobindo)

The book for which Dattopant wrote a forward explains powerful countries always focused their interest which resulted in the flow of income from poor to rich countries.
