Hindu Youth provide clarity during times of immigration uncertainty

 

 

New Zealand, Jun 29: Hindu Youth New Zealand (HYNZ), a Division of Hindu Council of New Zealand Inc., is pleased to announce its first online webinar series focused on recent changes in visa, and immigration requirements in New Zealand – Pathway to Aotearoa.

 

Whether you already have a New Zealand visa, planning for residency or thinking of migrating to New Zealand, getting the right immigration advice is important. The webinar will be held online on Thursday, 7th of July 2022, from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. The webinar will be free and open to all, including international audiences, says a press release issued today.

 

The first webinar will be focused on the recently announced Green List, and the occupations leading towards fast track and work to residence pathways.

 

“The last two years of COVID-19 has been very challenging, particularly for the migrant community in New Zealand” said Narmada Kohli, Programs Coordinator, Hindu Youth New Zealand.

 

“By breaking down the immigration changes and providing an opportunity for the community to ask questions, we hope to provide clarification and enable people to plan for their future properly” she added.

 

The online program will be conducted by Sakshi Vij Sekhon, a Licensed Immigration Adviser, and a volunteer of Hindu Youth New Zealand. She has completed her licensing qualification in New Zealand Immigration Advice as well as her Post-Graduation in Management and Leadership. As the director of her company NZ Visa Immigration Services, Sakshi conducts regular workshops and webinars to provide advice to the members of the community.

The webinar will cover the criteria of the Green List, how the category works, and how you can prepare an application that has the best chance for success. This webinar will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about and seek advice on the following:

 

● Green List occupations; eligibility, criteria, and the process.

● The fast track ‘Straight to Residence’ pathway.

● The ‘Work to Residence’ pathway

● Costs and timeframe for the Green List visa applications.

● Rights for partners of Green List visa holders/eligible applicants.

● How to prepare for your application.

● Support services offered by HYNZ Immigration adviser.

 

The COVID-19 pandemic forced New Zealand to shut its borders to the world for the last two years. However, the New Zealand Government is part way through border reopening, and planning to attract skilled migrants, and support higher-productivity and higher wage economies through ‘Immigration Rebalance’.

 

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been significant policy and program changes within various sectors in New Zealand” said Murali Krishna Magesan, President Hindu Youth New Zealand.

The other webinars in the HYNZ’s Immigration Series will cover the New Zealand Government’s border reopening, immigration changes as well as other relevant updates to the Immigration sector. The immigration webinar series aims to assist individuals in the community to gain better understanding of New Zealand’s immigration policies, recent changes and help them to seek quality advice on their journey of making Aotearoa their home.
