India is having umpteen number of companies working in various fields. They are excelling in their respective fields. They are doing brisk businesses of thousands of crores and more. But how many companies have a concern for the environment apart from the vision? Only a chosen few! This is despite having several legislations and rules making it mandatory to protect the environment.

However, there are always a few exceptions. One such exception is a company named Raj Path Infracon Pvt Limited. This Pune-based company is working in the field of construction. i.e. Construction of roads, barrages, dams, etc. All these activities no doubt contribute to pollution to some extent. But it is an unavoidable devil. Despite knowing this fact, several companies think of themselves to be the helpless entity and keep the subject of the environment out of their domain. But surprisingly, the man behind the Raj Path Infracon is a man of green fingers and passion for the environment. He is Jagdish Kadam, Chairman and Managing Director of the company. It starts from his home itself which is having numerous plants of diverse species. Though the idea of keeping the home clean and green may not amuse many, anyone will be happy to see his site offices and mainly the sites in general and his green vision in particular. You can notice the difference at the very entrance of the site office. He proudly shares that his passion for green initiatives is inherited from his roots in a family of farmers.

Incidentally, his company Raj Path is in the process of setting a spectacular world record in the field of nonstop asphalting of the road by continuously working for 108 hours. It is being done to get recorded in the world's most coveted Guinness Book of World Records. Fortunately, it is being done on the most defamed road, a stretch of NH-6 from Amravati to Akola. Since the last decade, it was being known as an avenue of trouble and had become a thorn in the neck of rulers, politicians, and administrates. Having re-awarded this challenging work to Raj Path all of them will heave a sigh of relief.

The green vision and passion of Mr. Kadam will be probably visible from his decision to plant the 1000 trees along the road where currently the work for Gunniess Record is in progress. It's part of the proposed massive plantation of 94,700 plants on the highway under a contract of Raj Path. It is mandatory as per the contract terms of NHAI, the contracting authority but it is after completion of the work. He is going out way to fulfill his commitment to the environment.

It is not only in the field of construction, his core business but also in the field of the environment too, he wants to carve his footprints. It is an agent of change. It is not just for the sake of mandatory contractual obligations. It is not for showcasing but it is coming from the depth of his heart. His past sites are the glowing manifestation of this.

The most dynamic and visionary Minister of MoRTH Nitin Gadkari has given the innovative idea of farm ponds. It is for the first time in the field of road construction. These will serve the dual purpose of water conservation and irrigation of farmland to a small extent. Following this novel idea, Rajpath under the passionate and visionary leadership of Jagdish Kadam has aggressively completed the construction of 34 such huge farm ponds on this patch of NH-6. For this, the company has collaborated with Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapith, Akola (Agriculture University). This is also a step beyond or before contractual obligations.

It is a humble beginning and not the endpoint. It is not for earning but for the betterment of the nation in general and in the larger interest of the environment and our mother earth. This is the green vision of Mr. Jagdish Kadam.

May it grow beyond the boundaries!
