International Yoga Day 2022: PM Narendra Modi to lead Yoga Day celebrations in Mysuru on June 21

The International Yoga Day celebrations will be held at 75 prominent Heritage spots across the country. Apart from Mysuru, Halebeedu, Hampi, Pattadakal and Vijayapura are some other sites in Karnataka where the International Yoga day celebrations will be held.

Bengaluru, June 08: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to lead the International Yoga Day celebrations in Mysuru on June 21. PM Modi will perform Yoga at the Mysuru Palace premises. The International Yoga Day event in Mysuru is being organised as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The preparations for International Yoga Day celebrations in Mysuru were reviewed by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday. The Karnataka government has constituted 14 committees including a Core Committee.
 
The Core Committee will be headed by the District in-charge minister for the smooth and successful conduct of the event. Arrangements for transport, snacks, drinking water and other facilities will be made by the state officials in coordination with the Central government.
 
 
 
"Extend all the cooperation to the Union AYUSH ministry, which is keen to organise an exhibition on Yoga on the occasion," said Bommai. The Karnataka CM also instructed the police officials to ensure foolproof security during PM Modi's visit.

Meanwhile, union minister of state for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje will participate in the event at Halebeedu, Union minister for Coal Prahlad Joshi at Hampi, IT minister Rajeev Chandrashekar at Pattadakal and Union minister for Energy Bhagwant Khuba at Vijayapura.
 
The International Day of Yoga is celebrated every year on June 21 since 2015 after its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.
