Pune, June 9: Sharpshooter Saurav Mahakal was arrested by Pune Rural police for his involvement in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. To assassinate Sidhu Moosewala, Mahakal travelled to Punjab with underworld don Arun Gawli and gang gunman Santosh Jadhav.
In this case, police have identified eight sharpshooters. Mahakal and Santosh Jadhav were among the eight identified sharpshooters.
Pune police became active after they got secret information that Mahakal is hiding in Maner on the border of Pune and Ahmednagar district.
Police arrested Saurav Mahakal and produced him in the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Court of Shivajinagar in Pune on Wednesday. As per reports, court has given custody of Mahakal till June 20.

As per reports, there are many cases against Mahakal in the Pune Rural police station. There is also a case of murder registered against Mahakal, for killing Omkar alias Rania Bankhele, but his arrest has been shown by the Pune Police in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.
Similarly, in the killing of Rania Bankhele, Mahakal was accompanied by sharpshooter Santosh Jadhav. Mahakal helped Santosh Jadhav to hide when there was a warrant issued against him for the murder of Omkar.
