Shivamogga, July 01: While conducting an investigation in the Bajrang Dal activist, Harsh murder case, the National Investigation Agency, carried out searches at the dozens of places in Karnataka. The searches were conducted at 13 locations in the Shivamogga district.
During the search, NIA sized various digital devices, SIM cards, memory cards, hard disks, and other incriminating materials and documents from the premises of the accused and suspects.
The case was initially registered by the Doddapete police station of Shivamogga district on February 21 and later re-registered by the NIA on March 23 after the agency took over the investigation.
NIA in April had stated that there was evidence that he was murdered with the "intent of inciting communal violence"Harsha's murder had taken place at a time when the hijab row was at its peak and created tension across the state.BJP leaders had alleged 'conspiracy' behind the murder and had rallied to transfer the case to NIA.
Ten people have so far been arrested and charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with the case.
