Uri-type suicide attack at Army camp in Rajouri; 3 Army personnel martyred, 2 terrorists shot down

Two terrorists carried out a suicide attack that took place 25 km from Rajouri on an Army company operating base. Both terrorists have been killed while three own troops have lost their lives.

Rajouri, Aug 11: In yet another cowardly suicide attack by terrorists, the Indian Army on Thursday foiled a suicide attack on an Indian Army base in Rajouri. Both the terrorists were killed in an encounter while three Army officers succumbed to their injuries and five got injured.

The attack took place 25 km from Rajouri in which two terrorists carried out a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Both terrorists have been killed while three own troops have lost their lives. Operations are in progress, according to the officials.
 
Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone said, "Someone tried to cross the fence of the Army camp at Pargal in Darhal area of Rajouri. Exchange of fire took place. Additional parties despatched for the location, 6 km from Darhal PS. Two terrorists killed." The attack comes days ahead of the celebration of the 75th Independence Day.
 
 
The injured officers in the terrorist attack has been rushed for medical treatment. 16 Corps Commander Lt Gen Manjinder Singh is constantly monitoring the situation on the ground. The area is being sanitized. The suicide attack on the company operating base of a Rashtriya Rifles unit in Pargal located in the Darhal area of Rajouri looks like an attempt to carry out a Uri-like attack where terrorists had infiltrated the Army camp and killed 19 soldiers.

The attack comes a day after three LeT terrorists were neutralised by security forces in Budgam. One of the killed terrorists was involved in the killing of civilians Rahul Bhat and Amreen Bhat.
