As a student I always used to wait for July and August, because it used to be the new session in school, monsoon used to be there, along with Independence Day, Festivals and so much more. As we grow up, we might lose that excitement, however, this year this month is extremely special. Let me tell you how.

There are so many reasons to celebrate this month. And we have already celebrated a few occasions. Here are some things that are special this month. Let’s talk about them.

1. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: This year August month is more special because we celebrated our 76th Independence Day and 75 glorious years of our Azadi. This August was the finale of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, and you could see the excitement everywhere. From Har ghar Tiranga to celebrating 15th August our Independence Day in many ways, we have lived this Month in patriotism and love for our nation, and we should continue doing that because our love for the nation is not restricted to just one day or a Month.

2. Rakshabandhan: Along with our Independence day, we have also celebrated Rakshabandhan this year in August. Which is a beautiful festival to celebrate the bond between a brother and a sister or siblings for that matter. Many women tied the Rakhi on our soldier’s wrists as they protect every system in this country, which is as special as this festival.

3. Janmashtami: Another festival we are celebrating today is Krishna Janmashtami. As today is the day, when Lor Vishnu took a new Avatar and came into the world as Krishna, we celebrate the birth of Bhagwan Krishna. Some call him Ladoo Gopal, Some call him Kanha ji, Some say Thakur Ji, and Some Kanhaiya, Nandlala, and Baal Gopal. There is an N number of names of Bhagwan Krishna. Bhagwan Krishna is loved in every room of his. Be it Baal Krishna, Yogeshwar Krishna, Saarthi Krishna, or Draupadi’s brother Krishna. Today we celebrate him. And looking at small kids getting ready as Radha and Krishna will just make your heart happy.

4. Teej / Hartalika: This day is dedicated to Bhagwan Shankar and Mata Parvati. As all the married ladies keep a fast for the long lives of their respective husbands. This day is a sign of love in our old Hindu Tradition. Hartalika or Teej comes one day prior to Ganesh Chaturthi. Now we are all set to welcome our favorite Bappa.

5. Ganpati Festival: This year Ganpati Bappa is coming to bless our homes on the 31st of August. The last day of this month. After 2 years of Covid, lockdown, social distancing, and lots of rules and regulations, we hope this year we can celebrate Ganeshotsav with just as we used to celebrate in pre covid era. Maharashtra was missing all the energy, happiness, and festive vibes, that used to come with Ganpati Bappa. May this year will be the happiest and brightest for all the Bappa Bhakts. This year we will see the huge celebration of the Ganesh festival.
