Bengaluru, August 19: Radical Islamic outtfit, Campus Front of India, the sudent arm of the, Popular Front of India (PFI) slammed the Karnataka State Education Minister BC Nagesh, for allowing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in education institutions.
Saying that 'Education Minister should focus on the development of quality education' the CFI has sought his resignation.
Taking twitter, CFI spewed venom against the Education Minister, saying, “Education Minister should focus on the development of quality education and infrastructure, not on Communal policies and statements.”
Apart from CFI, head of the Karnataka Waqf Board, Shaafi Saadi, raised question on governments decision. He further sought a sperate room fro students to offer Namaz on daliy basis. He has also sought permission to celebrate muslim festivals and religious courses to be taught as part of moral education.
It should be noted that, Karnataka State eduction Minister BC Nagesh gave the go-ahead to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Schools, describing it as a non-religious event that brings the nation together.
Nagesh made the announcement on Thursday, stating that it has been held in schools even before Independence.
