Hyderabad, August 23: Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh was arrested by the police on Tuesday for his alleged blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
A case was lodged against the BJP MLA after protests broke out on Monday night in Hyderabad after he released a video talking about the Prophet.The Police then booked the BJP MLA under IPC section 153A (Promoting enmity between two groups) and similar sections at the Dabeerpura police station

This move came after severe protests broke in Hyderabad last night at South Zone DCP office where protesters demanded immediate action against Singh and chanted ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’, an Islamist chant calling for his beheading for ‘blasphemy’ against Prophet Muhammad.
Reacting to his arrest, Singh asked why an FIR had been filed against him when jokes had also been made about Hindu religious figures.
He asked, "Today there have been complaints filed against me across the city. There is also an FIR against me. I'm asking why there has been an FIR. For what reason? Is our Ram not Ram? Is our Sita not Sita mata.
Earlier on August 19, Raja Singh and 4 others were taken into protective custody ahead of comedian Munawar Faruqui's show in Hyderabad.
