Dispur, Aug 4: A madrassa linked to a terror accused was demolished in Moirabari's Morigaon area of Assam on Thursday (Aug 4). Jami ul Huda madrassa was run by Mufti Mustafa, who was recently arrested for his links with Bangladesh-based terror outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team and AQIS.

The demolition of the madrassa was confirmed by Aparna N, superintendent of police of Morigaon district. In Morigaon today (Aug 4), Jami ul Huda madrassa was demolished under Disaster Management Act and UAPA Act. 43 students were studying in this madrassa, admitted to different schools now. According to the information provided by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Mustafa alias Mufti Mustafa obtained a doctorate in Islamic Law from Bhopal in 2017.
 
 
 
 
 
Assam police had busted a major terror module on Jul 28, initially arresting 10 people linked with Bangladesh-based radical outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). Out of the arrested, seven persons were from Barpeta district, one each from Moirabari area in Morigaon district, Guwahati and Bongaigaon districts. The top Assam police officer had said after the arrest that the person arrested from the Moirabari area ran a Madrassa.
 
During the arrest, Assam police police had also recovered some incriminating literature and documents. Hiren Nath, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Special Branch) of Assam police, had said the following day of arrest that "We have found that Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) have translated some Jihadi literature, some issues in Bengali and Assamese language which are not related to Assam and distributed these." According to Assam Police, Mustafa alias Mufti Mustafa, is a resident of Saharia Gaon in the Morigaon district, is an important financial conduit of the ABT module in India.
