While speaking during his prime-time program, Tucker Carlson made a controversial comment saying India had progressed only because of British rule. Turning a blind eye to the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, and Bengal Famine, he lied through one's teeth, claiming that the British did not carry out any genocide during the colonial era.

Indirectly criticising the United States for pulling out its troops from Afghanistan, Tucker Carlson draws the line between the US and UK and tries to equate Afghan and India's situations.

He said, "When we (the US) departed Afghanistan, we also took our arsenal with us. Whereas, when the British pulled out of India, they left behind an entire civilization, a language, a legal system, schools, churches, and public buildings, all of which are still in use today.

Moreover, purposely overlooking the enormous many architecture majors in India, Tucker cities Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai while claiming that India had not produced any architectural wonders before the start of the British colonial era.

He said, "After 75 years of Independence has (India) produced a single building as beautiful as the Bombay train station the British colonialists built? No, sadly it has not... We will never see (again an empire) so benign as the British."

Reacting to that Tharoor uploaded two furious face emojis and said: "I think Twitter ought to have an option for something to press when you can’t respond without losing your cool."

This is not the first time that Tharoor has talked against British colonization. He is well-known as a vocal critic of British colonization in India has also written several books on it, and continues to claim that the Britishers owe India compensation for the damages done during their reign.
