For unreserved, the Dussehra rally is a major event in the annual calendar of Shiv Sena where the party leader lays bare his thoughts on key political developments in the presence of the cadre.

The Thackeray and shinde factions have been locked in a tug-of-war over holding the Dussehra rally at BKC and Dadar's Shivaji park.

Meanwhile, the BMC is also yet to decide on the application from both factions for holding a rally at Dada's Shivaji Park. The BMC has sought legal opinion on the two applications received from two factions for holding their Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park.

This will be the first Dussehra rally of the Shiv Sena after the split in the party in June this year. Dussehra will be celebrated on October 5 this year.

Last month, Uddhav Thackeray's son and former state minister Aaditya Thackeray said authorities were not accepting an application from the Shiv Sena to hold its annual Dussehra rally, a decades-old political event held by the Sena at the Shivaji Park.
