Petrol-filled bottle hurled near BJP office in Coimbatore hours after NIA raids against PFI

No damages or injuries were reported from the incident. A team of senior officials reached the spot and conducted the preliminary inquiry, police said.

Coimbatore, September 23: After NIA and the ED carried out raids in offices of Popular Front of India and arrested as many as 106 leaders of Islamic orgnisation, the petrol-filled bottle was hurled by unknown people near BJP Police in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore.

No damages or injuries were reported from the incident. A team of senior officials reached the spot and conducted the preliminary inquiry, police said.
 
As per the police, some locals saw a few people moving suspiciously near the BJP office on VKK Menon road before the incident took place. Police are examing the footage obtained from CCTV cameras installed in and around the area.
 
 
While giving the information about the incident, BJP worker Nandkumar said, "Petrol bomb was thrown at our office, this is how terror attacks come, today raids (against PFI) took place at several places, it is the anniversary of Hindu Munnani leader and BJP national president too is in the state."
 
 
 
In the "largest-ever" crackdown on terror operations, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted searches nationwide at the premises of groups, including Popular Front of India (PFI), and individuals involved in terror-related activities.
 
The searches were carried out in more than 100 locations in 12 states across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
