Petrol bomb hurled at RSS member's house in Chennai, 3rd incident in 24 hours

According to police, two unidentified people threw the petrol bomb at Seetharaman’s house in the Chitlapakkam area. Efforts are underway to nab the two unidentified miscreants, police said.

Chennai, September 24: It seems like, after the NIA's massive nationwide crackdown on the Popular Front of India (PFI), the incident of hate crime against the right-wing orgnisation is seen intensifying in the south region.
 
In the latest incident, a petrol bomb was hurled at RSS functionary Seetharaman's residence, Tambaram, near Tamil Nadu's Chennai. This is the third such incident.

According to police, two unidentified people threw the petrol bomb at Seetharaman’s house in the Chitlapakkam area. Efforts are underway to nab the two unidentified miscreants, police said.
 
"At around 4 am, we heard a loud sound and saw fire outside. We thought it was a short circuit, but it wasn't the case. We doused the fire and called police officials. They got the footage of the accused," Seetharaman said.
 
Earlier on Friday, a petrol bomb was hurled at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Mattannur, Kannur during the protest against the arrest of the Popular Front of India’s state leaders.
 
 
 
A two-member group reportedly reached the office on a scooter and threw the petrol bomb while breaking the window panes. The incident happened during the PFI’s dawn-to-dusk hartal against the arrest of the outfit’s leaders in a massive country-wide raid.
 
On Thursday night, a bottle filled with an inflammable substance was hurled at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore, triggering tension in the area.
