Ganga Vilas cruise completely booked till March 2024 despite heavy ticket prices

New Delhi, January 16: In a significant development, a 51-day river voyage from Varanasi to Dibrugarh, the longest river cruise in the world, would cost an average of Rs 20 lakh per person and despite that, it is fully booked till March 2024, as per the cruise operators.
During the trip to Dibrugarh, passengers will be served only vegetarian Indian cuisine and non-alcoholic beverages. According to Singh, guests will be served local meals and seasonal vegetables, and there will be no non-vegetarian food or alcohol on board.
The 51-day cruise will stop in 50 tourist destinations, including world heritage sites, national parks, river ghats, and important towns such as Patnain Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh, and Guwahati in Assam.
Tickets can be purchased at Antara Luxury River Cruises' official website. However, a ticket is not available before April 2024.
Raj Singh, the founder and CEO of Raj Singh Antara Luxury River Cruises, which operates the Ganga Vilas, stated that new bookings will be possible until after April 2024.

The 62-meter-long yacht was built entirely in India and cost Rs 68 crore. "We manufactured it for half the price that it would have cost elsewhere," Singh was reported saying.

In 51 days, the trip will travel 3,200 kilometres via 27 river systems in five Indian and Bangladeshi states. PM Modi stated that the MV Ganga Vilas river tour is a living illustration of the country's development of interior waterways. The luxury cruise includes three decks, 18 suites, a capacity of 36 guests, and all facilities.
