Mumbai, January 16: Maharashtra Police booked eight people in Washim district over a video that purportedly showed people dancing with posters of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The clip quickly went viral on social media.

Police said some young men were seen carrying Aurangzeb's posters during Dada Hayat Qalandar's urs on January 1. They also raised slogans. A case has been lodged in this regard.
 
 
 
The viral video shows a large group of people singing and dancing while holding posters of the Mughal ruler in their hands. The incident reportedly took place in the Mangrulpir area of Washim.
 
"Some youths carried Aurangzeb's photos during Dada Hayat Qalandar's urs on Jan 1 & raised slogans. Case registered," Mangrulpir Inspector Sunil Hud told news agency.
