'Luxembourg PM told me he is Modi Bhakt': Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde recalls Davos visit

He said,"I’m pleased to say that his popularity is not just in India, but also in Davos. It is our pride. I was happy that the name of our Prime Minister is on the lips of prominent people of the world."

Mumbai, January 20: While talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's raising popularity in the world, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde revealed that during his recent visit to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF), Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel told him that he is a “Modi bhakt” (fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi).

Shinde recalled his encounter with the European country leader in Davos recently, at a public event in Mumbai in Modi's presence on the stage. He also said that he met people from Germany and Saudi (Arabia) who asked him if he was with PM Modi. "I told them that I am with him," he replied.
 
He said,"I’m pleased to say that his popularity is not just in India, but also in Davos. It is our pride. I was happy that the name of our Prime Minister is on the lips of prominent people of the world."
 
 
 
 
"Luxembourg PM met me (in Davos) and told me that he is a 'Modi Bhakt'. He clicked a photo with me and said to show it to PM Modi. I met many people from Germany and Saudi Arabia and they asked me if I am with PM Modi. I said ‘I am his man’ only," CM Shinde said.
 
Further, the Maharashtra CM said that there was a lot of positivity about India and PM Modi at Davos.
 
According to a Morning Consult survey in 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi topped the global rating amongst world leaders with an approval rating of 75%. After PM Modi, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi came second and third respectively with 63 per cent and 54 per cent ratings.
