Five people were injured in the first blast, which occurred at around 11 am. The second explosion, which occurred after nearly half an hour, injured two people. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off. The IED blasts were similar to the Udhampur blast, and the modus operandi seems to be that of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, according to the reports.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has sought urgent steps to identify and take action against those responsible. "Such dastardly acts highlight the desperation and cowardice of those responsible. Take immediate and firm action. No efforts should be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice," the Lt Governor told security officials. He has also announced Rs 50,000 in compensation for those injured in the incident.

KC Venugopal, Congress General Secretary, on Saturday said Bharat Jodo Yatra will continue despite the twin blasts. He said two weeks before the Yatra entered Jammu and Kashmir, he had met with J&K L-G Manoj Sinha to discuss the upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi. KB Byju security advisor to Rahul Gandhi also accompanied them.

"Bharat Jodo yatra will continue no matter what," Venugopal told ANI when asked about the impact of J&K twin blasts on the Yatra. "Two weeks before the yatra began, I met J&K L-G in connection with the Yatra. All our leaders in J&K are in constant touch with the security personnel," KC Venugopal, Congress General Secretary said. "It is their responsibility to take care of such incidents," Venugopal added.
