In the last 2-3 days everywhere all we can see are talks about Kanjhiwala Death Case. A girl has been dragged for 13 KM under a car after a road accident and got killed brutally. But the sad part is, everyone is talking about who the girl is, from where she had come, and what did she do? Whom did she fight with? Were she drunk or not and what not. Media is taking interviews with her friend and asking questions like, were the victim drunk while driving? Did she fight with her boyfriend? The real question is, why this character assassination? Did anyone ask even once who these 5 guys were who killed this girl in that accident? Who dragged her for 13Kms? From where did they come? Where did they go? No one is asking these questions. And BJP leader Kapil Mishra is raising all these questions.

Kanjhiwala

In one of his tweets, he said, “From where did the girl come, where did she go, the entire CCTV footage was shown. But did anyone ask from where did that car and those 5 boys come? From where did they buy alcohol? When did they come? And after an accident where did they go? Did you see any CCTV footage of the same?

Was the girl drunk? Whom did she fight with? Don’t ask such questions and assassinate her character. The point is the way that accident happened. The way she was dragged for 13Kms and killed. Why no one is talking about these points?”

The victim's family is going through a lot. The victim’s father died at a young age, and after that, she was the only breadwinner of the house. Her mother is suffering from kidney failure and the victim has 3 young siblings. They are in a horrible condition right now. And what nation is talking about? Was the girl drunk? Did she have a boyfriend?

Where are we as a society? Kapil Mishra’s questions are valid as citizens we know nothing about the culprits. We know nothing about who they are, or what they do. Where did they go? Why were they drunk? Who was driving the car? Why they did not stop? So many questions but no CCTV footage is available for the same.

In Nirbhaya's case also media did the same, questions were being raised why was she out and about at 9 PM with a boy? Was he just a friend or a boyfriend? Then also the question was, how dare such men touch her, rape her and kill her in public transport? We were insensitive then, we are insensitive now.

Police are accountable for taking late actions, however, the investigation is going on, and we will get to know eventually what happened, but as citizens, we should be sensitive towards the girl and her family, because what happened is extremely horrific.
