In a major development, it seems like Nastik
Udhayanidhi Stalin who earlier passed a derogatory statement against Sanatan Dharma had recently suffered from a huge meltdown after Indian fans greeted Pakistani wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans.
It should be noted that on Saturday (14 October) during the India Vs Pakistan Match,
when Rizwan made his way back to the pavilion after being bowled by Jasprit Bumrah for 49 off 69 deliveries, fans and spectators greeted his 'Jai Shri Ram' Chant. The video of the incident has made noise on social media.
In a video, the crowd can be seen chanting "Jai Shri Ram" when the Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter was returning to the dressing room after scoring a 69-ball 49.
Relating to it,
Udhayanidhi while posting his unwanted opinion condemns the act and says it is unacceptable. While showcasing his unbearable pain over the incident, Stalin said that he believed such behaviour only meant a new low for India and deemed it unacceptable.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter,
Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "India is renowned for its sportsmanship and hospitality. However, the treatment meted out to Pakistan players at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is unacceptable and a new low. Sports should be a unifying force between countries, fostering true brotherhood. Using it as a tool to spread hatred is condemnable."
Apart from him, many liberals have taken the objection to the incident. Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale who is always on his front foot to showcase his loyalty towards the Paksitan, also reacted to the incident.
“PM Modi desperately wants India to host the 2036 Olympics. But if this is what BJP has reduced our audiences to - where they heckle a Pakistani player with chants of Jai Shri Ram - massive doubts remain over whether we’re qualified & sporting enough to host ANY international sporting event. Not surprisingly - the stadium where this happened is called Narendra Modi stadium,” Gokhale posted on X.
When Mohammed Rizwan dedicated his victory to Gaza, not a single left liberal spoke about the politicisation of sports.
At this point, it should be highlighted that, recently Muhammad Rizwan had an old habit of grabbing politics and religion in sports. Recently, he grabbed an eye balls of many when he started offering Namaz on the cricket field during the second half of the match against the Netherlands while his teammates awaited drinks during the break Not only that, but he also dedicated his country’s win to “brothers and sisters in Gaza.”
The act was against the ICC rule which stops cricketers from indulging in making political and religious statements.
So as per the librel's logic, performing Namaz during the Match is an act of appreciation but chanting Shri Ram is offensive. This is what secularism is!
