On Sunday, a Rayagada-bound train collided with a Palasa passenger train from behind near Alamanda Railway station, killing 6 and injuring 18 passengers.

Following the incident, one coach of Palasa passengers allegedly leaped onto the main line, where it was hit by a cargo train traveling on the same route.
However, no official information about the casualty has been released. Official sources have yet to clarify the cause of the accident.
 
 
 
 
According to reports, local police have initiated a rescue and relief mission. Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad, as well as other East Coast Railway authorities, have hurried to the accident site.
The local government and the NDRF have been notified for help and ambulance service, and an accident relief train has arrived at the scene, according to railway officials.
