India is hosting the World Cup this year under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. India announced their squad of 15 players. Except for Virat and Ashwin, only three other members of the squad—Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami—have participated in the World Cup more than once. The remainder of the team has either one or no World Cup experience.

India's World Cup campaign will begin on October 8 against Australia in Chennai. As we eagerly await for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 to start, let's look at six Indian players who are all set to debut in this highly anticipated tournament.

1. Shubhman Gill

The first up we have is the Prince of Cricket, Shubhman Gill. Shubhman made his ODI debut against New Zealand in the year 2019. With a strike rate of 102.84 in just 35 matches, Gill is all set to make his World Cup debut.

2. Ishan Kishan

The young wicketkeeper-batsman from Jharkhand Ishan Kishan made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2021. With a strike rate of 102.43 in just 25 matches, Kishan is ready to make his World Cup debut.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

After creating a storm in the T20s Suryakumar Yadav right-handed batsman from Mumbai, made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2021. With a strike rate of 105.71 in just 30 matches, the star from Mumbai is all set to make his debut.

4. Mohammed Siraj

The Miyan Magic is all over the news these days. After the entertaining ODI series against Australia, Sirag ranked number one in the ICC ranking of ODI bowlers. The Right-arm fast bowler made his debut against Australia in the year 2019. With an economy of 4.88 in 30 matches, The Hyderabad Express is set to make his World Cup debut.

5. Shardul Thakur

In ODI matches, Shardul Thakur has been one of India's top wicket-takers. The Mumbai boy represents a significant threat to batsmen everywhere because of his capacity to maintain both his pace and seam placements. The all-rounder made his debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2017. With an economy of 6.24 and a strike rate of 105.11, Lord Shardul is all set to make his debut.

6. Shreyas Iyer

Iyer has spent more time off the field than on the field because of his injuries. This year has been tough for Iyer as he missed out on the IPL, WTC, and the Ireland and West Indies tours. The Right right-handed batsman made his debut against Sri Lanka in the year 2017. With a strike rate of 97.88 in 47 matches, Shreyas Iyer is all set to debut at CWC 2023.

The last time India hosted the World Cup in 2011, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team India won the title. Let's hope the new generation team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma gets the cup home. Can't wait to see how these young stars perform on the world stage and potentially become the future legends of the game.
