Missile cum Ammunition Barge LSAM 10 (Yard 78) for Indian Navy Launched

The fourth Barge of the 08 x Missile Cum Ammunition Barge project, built by MSME Shipyard, M/s SECON Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd (SEPPL), Visakhapatnam for the Indian Navy, was launched on 20 November 23 at Guttenadeevi, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh (launch site of M/s SEPPL). Cmde Shanmugam Sabesan, CRO (East), presided over the launching ceremony.

 

 

On 19 February 21, the MoD and M/s SECON Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd, Visakhapatnam inked a contract for the construction of 08 Missile Cum Ammunition Barges.

 

The availability of these Barges would boost IN's operational responsibilities by enabling the transportation, embarkation, and disembarkation of articles/munitions to IN ships beside jetties and at outer harbours.

 

These barges are designed and manufactured in India in accordance with the Naval Rules and Regulations of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).

 

During the design stage, the Barge's model was tested at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam. These barges are proud representatives of the Government of India's (GoI) Make in India project.
