Jaipur, Nov 22: With an aim to lure the minorities to votebank in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly Elections, the Congress party released its manifesto and vowed to offer reservations to the Muslim community in proportion to their population. This comes after the same move in Telangana wooing the Muslim voters.
Under its minority welfare measures, the Congress has mentioned in its manifesto that it will give reservations according to population. "After the caste census, we will undertake to provide reservations as per their population.
The development comes just four days ahead of the polling in the State of Rajasthan. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has also vowed to undertake a caste census after coming to power in the State.
Congress is facing a wave of anti-incumbency in Rajasthan. The Ashok Gehlot-led-government is hoping to lure the Muslim community by promising ‘reservation’ ahead of polls.
