The Best Woman in My life

But one role has a special corner in my heart. That person has touched me with her innocence and belief. For her I was the champion and superhero. In her eyes my every play and lesson was a stroke of a genius, I could do no wrong.

Women are God’s best creation. They don every hat in panache. Before you even realize they touch and change your life. Mother, wife, friends or colleagues-no matter which role-their grit and determination never ceases to surprise you. Be it the loving care or a pat on back or just a simple inspiration or a reality check, I could bank on them, I could reach out to them. It sounds cliché but the simple truth is- behind every successful man there are a lot of women. Therefore to consider the thought of best woman in my life is a very difficult question for me to answer. There have been so many women at every stage of my life who have taught me the essence of life.

But one role has a special corner in my heart. That person has touched me with her innocence and belief. For her I was the champion and superhero. In her eyes my every play and lesson was a stroke of a genius, I could do no wrong. Every time she missed some point in English and I corrected it, she would exclaim “Oh! How can you do it every time!”. She proudly boasted so many qualities about me-majority of which were creations of her animated mind. In her I saw the virtues of life. I wanted her to be good in everything which I could not do myself and she never disappointed me.

As time passed and I felt like a diminishing force- from a hero to zero. When I stumbled with my self-belief, she, through her actions and questions reinforced in me the meaning of honesty, focus, determination, guts and surprisingly, physical fitness. She is the one who now overhauls me thoroughly because by default she is empowered to tell me “Aap jara apna mindset change Karo otherwise delete ho jaoge”. The best part of this is, I feel proud listening to her, learning from her and doing the things she likes me to do. I now feel wonderfully enthusiastic to unlearn and re-learn. And every time she corrects my English, I am left wondering “Oh! How can you do it every time!

Yes, she is my daughter.

She is my hero. I am proud to be her father.

And yes! I have got the permission of my wife to say so.
