New Delhi, Feb 13: Showing disrespect in Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP and actress Jaya Bachchan was called out for pointing a finger at Rajya Sabha Speaker and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar during a proceeding on February 9.

In the viral video, an angry Jaya Bachchan can be seen pointing her finger at Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar amid uproarious Budget sessions in Parliament over the Adani-Hindenburg issue.

In the clip, she can be seen standing up, walking towards the Well of the House and pointing a finger at Jagdeep Dhankar who was asking the members of the Rajya Sabha to remain seated.

The video of her angry outburst went viral on social media platforms with BJP leaders sharing and condemning it. Meanwhile, several social media users compared her reaction with her general reaction to photojournalists.

"Jaya Bachchan's behaviour in the Rajya Sabha is condemnable," BJP's Ajay Sehrawat wrote sharing the video. Criticising her reaction, BJP spokesperson Anuja Kapur took to Twitter to share the clip and wrote, "Like party, like values... Jaya Bachchan ji, at least you should have kept the dignity of the post."

On other hand, Rajani Patil, a Congress Rajya Sabha MP, was suspended for the rest of the ongoing Budget Session for violating the directions of the chairman. Defending her, Jaya Bachchan claimed that she was not given the opportunity to clarify. "It was done, in my opinion, in a really demeaning manner. This shouldn’t have happened. They ought to have reported it to the committee if they thought something was done inappropriately. Don’t know if they sent it. She wasn’t given the chance to clarify," said Jaya Bachchan.
