Historic! LG J&K Manoj Sinha inaugurates renovated old Bhagwan Shiva Temple of Srinagar's Lal Chowk

In a historic moment, Manoj Sinha inaugurated the renovated old Shiva Temple located at Abi Guzar, near Lalchowk in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

Ahead of G20 Summit, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated three projects of Srinagar Smart City, 16 development projects of 11 Urban Local Bodies, and 9 solid waste management facilities in 10 Urban Local bodies. These projects will significantly boost urban infrastructure and give an impetus to ease of living.

Apart from this, in a historic moment, Manoj Sinha inaugurated the renovated old Shiva Temple located at Abi Guzar, near Lalchowk in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The Shiva temple had faced destruction during 2014 floods. The Jammu and Kashmir administration undertook this project under the Srinagar Smart City.
 
 
 
He also inaugurated the Polo View High Street. Speaking about the same, he tweeted, "Polo View in the heart of Srinagar has been transformed into pedestrian-oriented high street that will attract more footfall, increase in retail sale, improve experience of visitors and it will make the area more liveable".
 
The Polo-View market was completed recently under Smart City project and the shopkeepers had expressed their gratitude to the J&K administration for changing the face of the market. The LG also visited the temple at Abi Guzar. He was accompanied by SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Matoo, SMC Commissioner Athar Amir Khan and other officials of the administration.
 
Further, he also said, "The holistic approach in developing urban infrastructure is focused on Individual's well-being, new avenues & opportunities for the people for more diversified incomes, improved service delivery, mobility, cleanliness & to achieve the objectives of sustainable urban development."
 
"Several steps have been taken to fulfil the aspirations of all 40 ULBs of Kashmir Div. We have put people at the centre of cities and the projects both development & solid waste management are offering unprecedented opportunity to improve lives of millions of urban residents," he added.
 
Srinagar city is going under massive revamp under Smart City Projects worth Rs 3000 Crore. Recently, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta stated that Srinagar would have been no better than what is going to be. Under the smart city projects, the J&K administration has laid cycle tracks and kept the cycles available against hourly charges at various points in the city. Roadside car parking has also been made available against charges. The famous clock tower also known as Ghanta Ghar is also being renovated besides the roads surrounding it.
