IPC Section 505 (1) (b) deals with the 'intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquility'.

It should be noted that, a day after the Supreme Court verdict on the 2022 political crisis in Maharashtra, Raut termed the 11-month-old Eknath Shinde-led government in the state as "unconstitutional" and claimed it will collapse in the next three months. He said the Supreme Court, in its verdict on Thursday, made crucial observations and found fault with the conduct of then-Governor B S Koshyari and the Assembly Speaker during the political crisis.
