In yet another attempt of Land Jihad, a group of Islamist Extremist allegedly tried forcefully enter in Maharashtra's Trimbakeshwar temple and tried to offer Chaddar on the Shivling.
 
However, the forceful entry bid was stopped by vigilant security personnel and the authorities managing the temple, renowned as a Jyotirlinga Mandir. The incident took place on Saturday, 13 May.

The incident of the Land Jihad came to light after several videos of the incident that reportedly have been doing the rounds on social media.
 
In a video clip, five to six people can be seen trying to enter the temple carrying green scarves. They were, however, not allowed to enter the temple premises. The occurrence led to heightened tension within the premises, but prompt intervention by both the police and the temple management helped alleviate the situation
 
Taking note of the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the Home Ministry portfolio in the Maharashtra government, ordered an SIT probe into the incident. “Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered strict action by registering an FIR on the alleged incident of a certain mob gathering at the main entrance of the Trimbakeshwar temple,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a tweet in Marathi.
 
Fadnavis has also ordered the formation of an SIT under the chairmanship of officers of the rank of Additional Director General of Police to investigate the incident, it said. “The SIT will not only probe this year's incident, but also last year's incident, when a certain mob allegedly entered the Trimbakeshwar temple premises through the main entrance,” the CMO said.
 
Trimbakeshwar Temple Trust has also written o Nashik Commission of Police demanding action against the for trying to enter the temple.
