The student who praised the movie, was confronted and assaulted in the hostel, leading to a larger altercation with some outsiders too joining the scuffle.

An FIR has been registered against him at Bakshi Nagar police station. GMC Principal Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma stated that an internal probe will be conducted by the students' disciplinary committee, led by Dr A S Bhatia from the biochemistry department, within a week.

While the probe is ongoing, 10 students have been rusticated from the hostel for two months and are banned from attending classes. The clash at the hostel has resulted in two reports from the warden and heightened security measures.
